Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
How do
I get started?
A.
First you
pick from our
available trailers, then
choose your
campground, and finally call Redwood
Coast Camping to make your trailer rental
reservation.
Q.
What
equipment is provided?
A.
Our trailers are equipped with a
basic set of dishes and cooking
utensils to accommodate the number
of people the unit sleeps. There is
a set of pots and pans, a stovetop coffee pot, and coffee
cups. We also provide cutting
boards, pot holders, cheese grater,
bottle opener, can opener, and a cork
screw. There is a bucket, mop and
broom & trash cans. We provide a complimentary
roll of paper towels, two rolls of
toilet paper, hand soap and
trash bags.
Each
trailer has an RV battery which
operates the lights, the fan for the
propane heater and the water pump.
Ample propane is provided to operate the
appliances such as the refrigerator, stove, hot water
heater, oven, and heater. The
battery and the propane
should last your entire stay as long
as you are conservative. We will
demonstrate the operation of the
trailer and it's appliances upon setup.
Q.
What
should we bring?
A.
We
suggest you bring your own bedding and
linen. You will need towels, pillows,
blankets and/or sleeping bags.
Q.
Is the
trailer hooked up to water and electricity?
A.
Our trailers are
self-contained and carry an adequate amount
of fresh water, battery power and propane to
run your appliances. If you choose in a
campsite with water and power hookups we
will connect the trailer upon setup. For
first-time campers or people with lots of
kids, water and electricity hookups are
recommended!
Q.
The
campsite we chose does not have a water
hookup. What if we run out?
A.
At setup we will
leave jugs to refill your water tank. We
will show you how to fill the jugs and empty
them into the trailer.
Q.
What
if we run out of battery power?
A.
Your batteries
can last 5-6 nights if you are conservative.
If you suspect your batteries are getting
low, call our office as early in the morning
as possible. We will make every effort to
bring you fresh batteries. Some remote
campground locations may incur a service
charge. If you are planning on staying more
than 5 days it's best to select a campsite
with water and electricity hook-ups.
Q.
Will
the microwave work?
A.
No. They won’t
operate on battery power. The microwave and
wall outlets will work if you’re hooked up
to an electrical source. Your other
appliances work on battery power and
propane.
Q.
Can we
have you move the trailer to another site or
campground during our stay?
A.
Moving from
campsite to campsite or to another
campground is discouraged. If there are
extenuating circumstances that require a
move, please call as early in the morning
during regular business hours to schedule a
move. Expect that an additional fee will be
incurred.
Q.
Can we
bring the family dog?
A.
YES! Pets are
welcomed. Please do not leave pets in trailer
unattended.
Q.
Can we rent one of your trailers and take it
wherever we want?
A.
No. Unfortunately our insurance does not allow for self-tow.
